- SMGF
The Sorenson Molecular Genealogy Foundation (SMGF) was an early pioneer in the genetic genealogy field. Providing the first databases of testers to match against. In fact, before the term genetic genealogy became more commonplace, it was being termed Molecular Genealogy. The assets of SMGF were bought by Ancestry and initially provided their DNA Testing service and database. Before they introduced their own microarray product in 2014 and then sunset-ted the SMGF work.
